The Food of the Flower and Garden Festival 2021

I don’t know about your kids, but currently my tween teen and adultish kids are most motivated by FOOD!

When we headed out to Universal, I ran the idea of doing something different for a day. These kiddos universally voted for a day at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival!

What exactly is the Flower and Garden Festival? Held annually in the spring, Epcot hosts a festival full of food, entertainment, a butterfly exhibit and, of course, flowers.

We talked about the Garden Graze here. During this scavenger hunt-like activity, our family tried several vegan festival offerings.

Along the way, we sampled other items.  Today, I’ll share our 5 favorites.

Beef Tips in Canada

Thing 3 tried these for the first time 2 years ago. It was his first request upon entering the park.

Beef tips, mashed potatoes, carrot,s gravy and those cute little onions meld into one delicious meal.

The Salted Caramel Beignet in France

This. Was. Amazing. Sweet. Salty. Doughnut-like.  The filling consisted of a decadent vanilla cream. Thing 2 begged for more a few hours later. Sharing was HARD.  We gave up and ordered more than one.

The Macaron Lollypop in France

Thing 3 and I enjoyed this morsel 2 years ago and were on the lookout for it again. It did not disappoint. This year, candies replace the nuts.

Fudgy on the inside, lightly crispy on the outside, these suckers are HUGE.  You could probably share, but you might not want to.

The Goat Cheese Tart with Caramelized Onion in France

Is this the moment that I confess we loved ALL the French items? That we came back during the day to sample more?

This tart was enjoyed by us on round two to the French Outdoor Kitchen. Flaky, buttery crust filled with goat cheese and onions this savory item proved delectable.

Frushi in Japan

Thing 4 was jazzed about this offering. Truth be told, $6 is A LOT to spend on a little rice, a cut up strawberry and a couple of pieces of cantelope. Having said that, the combo was delicious and the presentation impressive. Frushi was enjoyed by those who still had room to partake.

Things I Wish I Had Not Missed.

I’m so sad that I skipped the Avocado Toast at the Sunshine Griddle Kitchen. It was pretty!  Hopefully, it makes a reappearance next year so that I can see if it tastes as good as it looks!

Things I’m ok that I Missed

The soupy cookie butter dirt and worms honestly just did not feel special enough to be included in the food line up at the Flower and Garden Festival. I will admit, it goes with the theme. Thing 4 loved it, so it is not that it is awful. It just seems like something I could make on a Saturday afternoon at home. Meh.

Things That We Ate That You Could Get Anytime

Thing 4 REALLY wanted this ice cream cone from the African Outpost.  We intended to only try festival food, but how could I say no?

We also broke down and purchased some freshly popped caramel corn in Germany. That stuff is ridiculously good. I have no regrets.

All in all, we shared and savored our way through the festival. At the end of the evening, we waddled our way towards the exit, happy.  No one asked what was for dinner. I deemed that a huge win.

You can enjoy the Flower and Garden festival from now until July 5th, 2021.
