It is March and Spring is heading our way!

At Disney’s Epcot, this seasonal change ushers in the International Flower and Garden Festival.

What exactly makes the Flower and Garden Festival Special?

First things first, the Flower and Garden Festival finds Epcot adorned in a glorious array of flowers!  You can find yourself wandering into a various array of gardens.  My personal favorite can be found near the Canadian exhibit.  However, this is not the only one that will wow you.

Take time to tour each garden spot.  The care that Epcot’s gardeners have taken to make it a spring paradise is impressive.

Secondly, and along the same vein, Epcot has “Disney-fied” the gardens with Movie Characters adorned in foliage and flowers.

These fun additions found throughout the park add a flair of Disney-whimsey to the Festival.

Third, the Flower and Garden Festival brings fun exhibits. When we attended, there was a butterfly exhibit.  Guests could wander the indoor butterfly oasis and enjoy viewing butterflies covered in a wide array of patterns and colors.

My son, Thing 3, enjoyed the free applesauce that a vendor gave out near the butterfly exhibit exit one year. I do not know if this is a regular occurrence, but he was in heaven.

Speaking of food, a delicious part of the Flower and Garden Festival is the FOOD.

Orange bird slushies, citrus chicken, lobster tail on a stick, Canadian beef tips and giant chocolate macarons were all favorites.  We’ll talk more about new foods and favorites in a later post.

Small samples of many delicious foods around the world are sure to satisfy your taste buds.

Fifth, you will enjoy unique entertainment.  When we attended, I happened to walk by the American Adventure pavilion and hear some familiar music. It was none other than SISTER SLEDGE performing live. Fun fact, I heard them perform in Disneyland when I was a child. They were just as fun as they were back in the day.

Like the other festivals, Epcot brings in unique entertainment for each one.

Unlike some of the other festivals, I would venture to say that the entertainment is less a part of this particular festival. Still, it’s nice to be wandering through the World Showcase and enjoying some performing here and there.

One activity that can’t be missed is the Flower and Garden Festival Scavenger Hunt!  Guests purchase a scavenger hunt card and go on a hunt to find these cute little bees located in gardens about the park. Once the card is filled, participants can go to designated stores within Epcot and exchange them for a prize.  Sidenote: to hear more about the scavenger hunt during the Festival of the Arts, go here.

In addition to savoring the sights and smells of plants in the park, guest may purchase some of these beauties to take home! Our friend bought this exotic plant. Isn’t it gorgeous?

The International Flower and Garden Festival will be held March 3rd-July 5th, 2021.

During this season of the year, Florida is notorious for experience afternoon thunderstorms. Because of this, I have to apparel recommendations.

First, I swear by a good pair of Tevas. They have great, supportive soles that will keep you going all day long in the parks. When the rains come, you will not be hating life wearing wet socks.  Some of my favorites can be found here.

Secondly, I know many travelers opt to bring ponchos from the Dollar Tree. This is perfectly fine in January. In the warmer months however, this plastic ponchos morph into a human steamer bag. Frog Togs prove a great alternative. They keep the rain off and the material breathes. For more details, go here.

When will you go explore the International Flower and Garden Festival? Hope to see you there soon!
